I'm thrilled to have joined ZDNet as a daily columnist (they call me a "blogger" -- but I know what I really am). For now on, all my meatier more serious essays on technology, media and culture can be found here.
Meanwhile, this will become a more personal, anecdotal diary. I'll write in an informal , intimate way about books, movies, sports, politics and anything else that catches my attention. I might even use as a confessional to reveal the less respectable elements of my personality.
My model is Dave Winer's Scripting News -- the original "blog" and still, in my mind, the most consistently human electronic diary on the internet. I might launch a few invectives of my own from down here against that elitist CULT OF THE AMATEUR.
